Rajon Rondo, Point Guard, #9 Boston Celtics Earns Red Bull Wings

Rajon Rondo is the Boston Celtics lucky charm.  He hopes to be the four leaf clover for Red Bull as well.

As the first NBA Player on Red Bull’s Major League Athlete Roster, Rondo hopes to add the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy to the list of accomplishments earned by the Energy Drink’s Athletes.

Before the first game of the series, the point guard donned his wings.  Rondo felt the need for speed in his announcement, arriving to the players entrance of TD Banknorth Garden in the official Toyota Camry #82 RedBull NASCAR stock car.

Rondo’s new wings apparently took some getting used to as the Bulls finished victorious in game 1.  But since, he has found them to be quite comfortable and the Celtics routed the Bulls in games 2 and 3.  Rondo, 23, has been a key factor in every playoff game of the series against the Chicago Bulls.  He is incredibly fast and when he plays well, they win.  With Kevin Garnett and his 15.8 PPG and 8.5 RPG watching from the sidelines with an injury, Rondo has stepped into a leadership position and dramatically increased his production from 11.9 to 22.7 PPG, 5.2 to 10.7 RPG, and 8.2 to 9.7 APG.  Apparently the Red Bull is working….

Rondo and his Celtics are looking to occupy an additional finger with a second Championship ring in as many years.  And it looks as if Red Bull is looking to supply him with the energy necessary to captain his team to this accomplishment.
